Police Bears Donation to San Diego Police Department
Susanne Romo and Farmers Insurance have partnered with the San Diego Police Department by donating plush ’police bear’ stuffed animals. These stuffed animals will be given to children in at-risk situations at the officers’ discretion. Susanne and the SDPD have partnered up to keep our communities’ children safe. The SDPD can offer free child ID cards and Farmers Insurance offers free digital ID, the first step in the Amber Alert.
Chula Vista NatureScapes
As part of the city’s commitment to habitat and species preservation, the Department of Conservation is offering a unique opportunity for homeowners through the NatureScape program. We would like to honor your efforts by certifying your yard as a Certified Wildlife Habitat through the National Wildlife Federation.
A NatureScape is a yard and/or landscape that provides a healthy habitat for birds, butterflies, and other wildlife while conserving precious resources like water. A Certified Wildlife Habitat incorporates features such as the presence of food, water, and cover for wildlife, drought-tolerant and native plant species, water conservation, and other sustainable and environmentally-friendly practices.
It is our goal to get Chula Vista to the goal of being the largest city in the state with the most certifications, and we need your help. We encourage you to contact us regarding the NatureScape program. When you qualify a NatureScape representative will come by and certify your yard and give you a free official “Certified Wildlife Habitat” sign to display on your property.
For more information or to make an appointment, please call the Conservation Department at (619) 409-3893. To learn more about the NatureScape program, please visit our website at: http://www.chulavistaca.gov/clean/conservation/Watershed/Nature.asp

Chula Vista Fire Dept Open House
Agent Susanne Romo joined agent Vanessa Coffeen McEvoy at the Annual Chula Vista Fire Department Open House this Saturday Oct 3, 2009. This program returned this year after a few years of absence due to budget cuts. Vanessa, her assistant Aurora, and Susanne manned a MILK booth and gave out almost 100 MILK CDs. On hand was Chula Vista Mayor Cheryl Cox, who thanked us for the work we do in the community.
Agent Vanessa Coffeen put this MILK booth together through her efforts with the Rice Canyon Fire Safety Council and her work with the CVFD.
